Memorial Day Gratitude

Today I am grateful for:

Storm shelters and tornado sirens,

Not having a single outdoor party to attend on this wet and blustery day,

Having had an intimate BBQ with friends last night

instead of a huge gathering today as we usually do,

Time to rest, relax, and unwind,

Watching the parade – donned with ponchos,

hands on hearts,

The heroes who have given us our freedom,

A memorial service to honor them,

For sturdy tomato cages,

And a deck that is just beginning to come alive –

battened down for the incoming storms!

Happy Memorial Day!

You’re right on, Becky! We have tons for which to be thankful, provided for us by every American military hero! So often, don’t we take this all for granted? Today, easy it is for us to enjoy rest, relaxation, a parade, a BBQ all because we’re living in this country in safety and freedom. Sure, our USA has some major problems, some seemingly unsolvable, but still, how lucky we are to be citizens of this glorious country! And don’t we all wish and pray for peace, which seems unattainable…a world where no one is killing anyone else with no wars ever again! End of sermon. A GRATEFUL MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL! Mom

About Me:

Hi! My name is Becky. I’m a mom, a wife, a friend, a writer, and a compulsive thinker. Don't invite me to a spa or to shop the day away, but rather, make me laugh, engage me in interesting conversation, play a game with me, or give me a cappuccino and homemade vanilla bean flan and I’m yours ‘til the cows come home.
